Internship Application Email

The goal of an internship application email is simple: tell them what role you're applying for, why you're a fit, and make your resume easy to find. Everything else is noise. Keep it tight and confident.

The basic template

A shorter version

Three things that help

  1. Name the role in the subject and first line. Don't make them guess what you're applying for.
  2. One specific reason, not a list. "I'm drawn to the role because..." with one concrete reason beats a generic paragraph.
  3. Attach a PDF resume. It opens cleanly on any device and won't lose formatting.

Proofread it once, ideally aloud. A clean, error-free email at the intern level matters more than you'd think — it's often the first sample of your "work" they see.
